In South Africa, a pigeon is faster than broadband internet. A Durban IT company organized an unusual race between a pigeon and the ADSL service run by Telkom. The mission was to deliver a 4 GB of information between two computers located 60 miles away from each other. The pigeon managed to deliver the 4 GB drive stick it one hour and it took another hour to upload it on the computer (why the hell it took so long to upload the files, I honestly cannot understand.) By the time the pigeon completed his mission only 4% of the information was transmitted via internet. The whole (ridiculous and inspiring story) here on BBC.
