Morans and Samburus leave differences aside

In Northern Kenya, the Morans and Samburus communities are notorious for fighting against each other leaving hundreds dead every year. This is unfortunately an unknown conflict that the media seldom reports. In 2008, when I traveled to this region I was shocked to hear that tens of people were killed in the conflict days before I reached the Turkana lake region. However, there was no reports of any conflict in the national or international media. That being said, the Kenya National TV station is reporting that the two communities are finally cooperating on a project – the construction of a road that will benefit the region.
